Free Redbox rental codes!

I love Redbox! We used to have Blockbuster by mail, but it seems that when you have a toddler, time shrinks, and it seems like the time you used to spend watching movies just, well, disappears. Not that I'm complaining, hugs and kisses, and playdough, and toenail painting is certainly a lot more fun than watching a movie!

But once in a while, we still feel like watching a somewhat recent movie that doesn't have Dora or Bob-Bob, and we like Redbox for that. Really, $1/night, can't beat that! Except if you have codes for free rentals, because free is always best!

I'm especially looking forward to watching Angels & Demons. Hopefully the movie is as good as the book was!

Thanks for http://www.fabulesslyfrugal.com/, here are a few codes.
New codes:
DLLNS26

Older codes that you may not have used yet:

Rite Aid's Gift of Savings is back!

It's back!!! Between November 22nd and December 24th, the more you spend at Target, the more you get back! Spend $25-$50, get $5 back ; spend $51-$100, get $10 back ; spend over $101, get $20 back. In the past, all those totals were before coupons, which means it was super easy to reach the maximum in just a couple weeks, and pay almost nothing! All you have to do is enter your receipts online, and that qualifies them for both the Gift of Savings and the regular weekly SCRs. So you can actually get your money back twice! For instance, Herbal Essences will be on sale $4.19 to $4.79. Buy 2, use a B1G1 coupon from the PG insert. Then submit your receipt online. So you'll pay the store $4.19 (if you got 2 $4.19 items), and will get a $2SCR. Like paying $2.19 for 2 items. And this will also count as $8.38 (price of 2 items before coupons) towards the GOS!

Free organic iced tea!

Well, I may not have been born and raised in the South, but I do like my iced tea. So when I saw a link for a free 16-oz Steaz organic iced tea, I jumped on it and printed it! I guess I'll just *have* to go to Target tonight. Oh darn, poor poor me! :-)

Thanks Hip to Save!

Spiced cranberry sauce

Right now, I have cranberry sauce on my stovetop, in preparation for tomorrow's Thanksgiving luncheon at work. On the stovetop, you say? Why doesn't she just bring a few cans? Well... because she likes to eat real food, not a log made with high-fructose corn syrup, sliced along the indententations of a can! OK, so the "can design" is a little cool. But honestly, it's super easy, and your house will smell oh-so-good when you're making your own sauce...

You'll need:
- the zest and juice of 2 organic oranges*
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 6-10 cloves
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 4 cups fresh cranberries (1 bag is about 3 1/2 cups)
- walnut halves (not sure how much, I just eyeballed it. Maybe 3/4 cup?)

*yes, organic. I for one don't like the taste of wax (and chemicals) in my cranberry sauce!

Put the cloves in a cheese cloth, then put the orange zest and juice, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and sugar in a pot, and bring to a boil. Add cranberries, let cook for about 5 minutes. You'll hear little pops, that's normal, it's the skins of the cranberries splitting open because of the heat. Add your walnut pieces, cook for another 5 minutes. And that's it!

So.... would you rather eat this

Or this?

And the ultimate proof that this is GOOD STUFF? My mother-in-law asked if I could make my cranberry sauce and give her extras if we're here for Thanksgiving!

Final cost: cranberries: $1.99/1 bag. Oranges: $1.85 for 2 oranges. I already had everything else. So I spent less than $4 to make what is probably equivalent to 2 cans of jello'd sauce, which are probably on sale right now for $1.60 or so, B1G1. But mine's made with luuuurve!

Target deals - week of 11/15

Because I'm lazy, I'll just refer you to Melissa's post here.

As expected, good deals for holiday baking/cooking. I'm going to grab a bag or 2 of potatoes ($1.99 for 10lbs), and make a bunch of potato skins, twice baked potatoes, and mashed potatoes, and that will go straight into the freezer for easy entertaining later in the holiday season.

A few other neat deals: there is a $1 coupon for Target baby wipes here. If you're lucky enough, your store sells the 48-ct toddler wipes refills for 97c (mine doesn't...). The coupon will automatically adjust itself to 97c, which means free wipes. And really, who doesn't need free wipes?

Walgreens, freebies and other cheap items

This week is so-so at Walgreens, but still a few good deals to be had:

- Snuggle (80 sheets or 32 loads) is on sale 2/$7 with the in-ad coupon. Add the $3 coupon from the 10/4 SS insert, and you get 2 bottles of Snuggle for $1!  ** the coupon expires today, 11/15 **
- Snowmen and Christmas tree Peeps are 3/$2. Those will be nice to make Smores in a Jar. Just change the tag, and here ya go, a neat present for a holiday exchange!
- Arm & Hammer Spinbrush Pro is on sale for $7.99, and you earn a $3 Register Reward. Use the $2 coupon found here, to make it $2.99 after RR and coupon.
- Ricola Mixed Berry cough drops (19-ct) are on sale for $1, and you earn a $1 RR, making them free. With cold and flu season here, you can't have enough of those around the house! Use the 50c coupon from the Healthy Savings booklet found at Walgreens to make this a money maker!
- Aussie hair care is $2.99, adn you earn a $2 RR. Add the $1 coupon from the 10/11 PG, or the October issue of Marie Claire to make it free!

Free sample of Rachael Ray Nutrish

When Target goes right!

So I've been stalking the Targets around me for 2 or 3 specific deals, but with 0 luck. I decided I'd check the one by work last night, just in case, and tada! They had 2 of the 3 deals I was looking for!

Here's a picture of my first trip:

5 apple-cinnamon Glade scented oil candle tins, 1 apple-cinnamon refill, 1 bayberry spice refill, 3 gingerbread refills, 2 packs of Tim Tams (yes, an unexpected find, and definitely not a planned purchase!), and 1 bottle of Alba after-sun lotion, in preparation for our possible Caribbean trip in a couple weeks.

How much did I pay for all that? $9.03+tax! And I earned 2 $5 Target gift cards!!! However, the cashier entered the coupons wrong, so I should have paid $16.48+tax. I mentioned the coupon error a couple times, but she still entered it the way that saved me more money.
Here's how it works:
- Alba lotion was 50% off = $6.48
- Tim Tams were $2.50 each = $5
- 5 candle tins (get the holiday scents, not the regular scents) @ $2.50 each = $12.50
use 5 $1.50 coupons found inside the tins = -$7.50
Get a $5 giftcard for buying 5 holiday scent candles (ofer valid until 12/16)
- 5 candle refills (again, get the holiday scents) @ $2.50 each = $12.50
use 5 "buy candle holder/tin, get a refill pack free" coupon = -$12.50. Those can be found on www.glade.com, or in the 11/1 SS coupon insert.
this is where the cashier entered $3.99 instead of $2.50 for each coupon, and I got MAJOR overage
Get a $5 giftcard for buying 5 holiday scent refills (offer valid until 12/16)

So if you just buy the candles and not the extra stuff I have, you should pay $5, and get 2 $5 giftcards back. A $5 money maker! But wait, it gets even better!! Go here to download free holiday music when you buy the candle holiday scents (Bayberry Spice, Peppermint Crush, Holiberry Wreath, Homemade  Gingerbread).
But wait! There's more! Great, I feel like an informercial now... :-) you can also submit your receipt for a $5 rebate when you buy 3 candles (up to 3 submissions per address).

Pretty neat, huh?

And now, here's a picture of my second trip:

6 500ml Smart Rinse bottles of mouthwash. Those are the bonus packs, with 65 3oz Dixie cups included with each mouthwash. I love this mouthwash, because it's alcohol-free, so it doesn't sting like the regular Listerine does.

Total for this trip? $8.97+tax, and I also earned 2 $5 Target giftcards! I looked everywhere for that mouthwash, and finally found it in the checkout lane. Guess it balances out all the candy they have there?

Here's how it works:
- get 6 mouthwash+free cups @ $3.99 each = $23.94
use 3 B1G1 coupon from the 8/2SS = - $11.97
use 3 $1 coupon from the 3/15 SS, 6/14 SS or 10/4 RP
get a $5 giftcard when you buy 3 Listerine products (offer valid until 11/22)
You could pay with the $5 giftcards you got for the Glade candles, and end up paying $0 OOP, still have a few cents left on your GC, and receive $10 back! I love spending nothing, and getting stuff I'll use!

Thanks Golden!
